On December 20, a team of dedicated healthcare professionals—including nurses, support workers, occupational therapists, housekeepers, and doctors—will come together to complete a marathon by running, walking, and wheeling. Their goal is to raise funds for the Sheffield Hospitals Charity.
All donations will directly benefit the Beech service, a residential step-down facility designed for individuals transitioning from mental health wards to independent living. This service provides a safe and supportive environment where people can rebuild their confidence and prepare for life outside the hospital setting.
The team aims to raise £1,000, which will be used to create a welcoming wellbeing space for service users at Beech. The funds will support the purchase of items such as an exercise bike, rowing machine, or games console, enhancing the recovery experience by fostering physical activity and recreation.
