News Of The Hour : NFL Top Veteran Reveals Retirement After Signing With Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills secured their seventh straight win by defeating the San Francisco 49ers on “Sunday Night Football.” This victory clinched the AFC East title for the Bills, making them the first team in 15 years to lock it up this early in the season.

Quarterback Josh Allen, who became the first NFL player to throw, catch, and rush for a touchdown in a single game against the 49ers, is now a top contender for the MVP award. While Buffalo is celebrating their fifth consecutive division title, the team’s ultimate goal remains to secure their first Super Bowl victory and earn a first-round bye along with home-field advantage.

Heading into Week 14, the Bills announced the return of safety Micah Hyde, who has been a free agent since his contract expired last season. In his first press conference back in Buffalo, Hyde revealed that he is planning to retire after this season, regardless of whether the Bills win the Super Bowl. “You can guarantee that for sure,” Hyde said, confirming that this will be his final year. The 33-year-old missed most of the 2022 season due to a neck injury and faced additional stingers last season. During his time away from the team this year, Hyde focused on getting healthy. The two-time All-Pro will gradually re-integrate into the team in Orchard Park, with head coach Sean McDermott stating that Hyde is currently in a practice squad role but has confidence in the team’s safety depth, including Taylor Rapp, Damar Hamlin, and Cole Bishop.

It’s unlikely Hyde will play in the Bills’ upcoming Week 14 game against the Los Angeles Rams, but he is expected to provide valuable depth as the team heads into the postseason.
