Tragic News : Nuggets Fans Favorite Suffers Critical Injury Set to be Out For Eight Weeks.

The Denver Nuggets have experienced a rollercoaster season so far, as they have alternated between wins and losses in their last eight games. Forward Michael Porter Jr. has improved his performance, averaging 18.7 points per game, while center Nikola Jokic has made another leap in his game.

Jokic currently ranks among the top three in key statistical categories (points, rebounds, assists) and holds the best odds to win MVP (+180 via FanDuel). Aside from Aaron Gordon’s injury, the Nuggets have been relatively healthy, but recent reports indicate that one of their backup forwards will be sidelined for an extended period. According to Nuggets PR: “Forward Vlatko Čančar has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. The procedure was performed by Dr. Riley J. Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery, and Čančar will be re-evaluated in eight weeks.”

Čančar has played only four games this season, averaging 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds. Last year, he was an important rotation player, appearing in 60 games and averaging 14.8 minutes per game. The Nuggets drafted Čančar 49th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, a draft where they traded the 13th overall pick, Donovan Mitchell, but also selected notable reserve guard Monte Morris at 51st.
