The Barron Collier Companies Naples Half Marathon, the city’s premier running event and the unofficial kickoff to Southwest Florida’s running season, will hit the road Sunday morning.

But it’s not just for local fans and spectators. The 37th annual Naples event is one of the few half marathons that offers prize money for overall winners and winners in each age division. Proceeds benefit the Gulf Coast Runners Youth Development and Scholarship Fund.

It’s also a USATF-certified track that attracts professional runners and Olympic hopefuls, as it has been a qualifier for the Olympic Trials.

When: 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19. Runners have three hours to complete the course

Start: 5th Ave. South by Cambier Park in Naples.

Course: Competitors run through 5th Avenue, Gordon Drive, Port Royal, and back to the finish at Cambier Park on 8th St. South. See a map of the 13.1-mile course HERE.
