Breaking News : Texas Longhorns announce the signing of another elite college star

AUSTIN, Texas — John Clark, a consensus top-50 national prospect from Houston, Texas, has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to play basketball at The University of Texas, head coach Rodney Terry announced on Wednesday.

Clark, a 6-9, 230-pound forward who currently plays at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, is ranked No. 37 nationally in the 2025 class by 247 Sports Composite, No. 38 by On3, No. 40 by ESPN, No. 42 by Rivals, and No. 45 by 247 Sports. Prior to his time at Link Academy, he played his freshman through junior seasons at Klein Cain High School in Klein, Texas.

“John Clark brings a unique blend of finesse and power to the court, along with the versatility needed to succeed in the SEC,” said recruiting analyst Blue Zertuche of Great American Shoot-Out. “He’s capable of scoring around the rim with finesse but isn’t afraid to use his strength when necessary. His skill set has shown steady improvement, and competing against elite athletes in the SEC will further accelerate his growth.”

Clark was named an All-Adidas Performer during the 2024 Adidas 3SSB circuit while playing for T.J. Ford Elite.

During his junior season in 2023-24, Clark averaged 17.8 points and 13.1 rebounds per game while shooting 61% from the field. He led all players in Texas’ Class 6A in both rebounds per game and double-doubles (22). Clark also helped lead Klein Cain to the first round of the 2024 UIL Class 6A state tournament and earned a spot on the Houston Chronicle’s All-Greater Houston Boys Basketball second team.
