Ronnie O’Sullivan v Stuart Bingham RESULT: World Snooker Championship score and latest updates today

Ronnie O’Sullivan has crashed out at the quarter-final stage of the World Snooker Championship as Stuart Bingham progressed to the semi-finals following a thrilling contest at the Crucible.

After they ended the second session – which included some incredible sportsmanship from O’Sullivan – all square at 8-8, it was nip-and-tuck at 10-10 until Bingham won three frames in a row, with O’Sullivan missing a few key shots after an incident involving the crowd in the 21st frame, with the seven-time champion unhappy with fans entering the arena before a key shot.

In the other quarter-finals, which all finished today, Judd Trump was knocked out by Jak Jones in a major upset. The world No 2 never got into his stride with a series of shocking misses and Jones wrapped up the 13-9 victory with a century break. Qualifier Jones will now face 2015 champion Bingham in the semis.
On the other half of the draw, Kyren Wilson turned the screw on John Higgins with more high-scoring breaks to seal his place in the semi-finals with a 13-8 triumph. He will play David Gilbert, who reached the final four in the world championship for the first time in five years also with a 13-8 win over Stephen Maguire.
