Garmin is rolling out a new beta update to the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches. Version 22.24 was released a couple of weeks after a stable update, version 22.22, which added new features like passcode, Body Battery TrueUp and support for the recent HRM 200 heart rate monitor (curr. $149.99 at Amazon).Beta version 22.24 focuses on bug fixes. Garmin has tackled problems like scheduled workouts displayed on the wrong day in some time zones and data for completed Daily Suggested Workouts showing as blank. Crashes that occur when users try to use the keyboard to respond to a smart notification while working out are said to have been addressed. On top of this, issues with the virtual partner pace, dynamic source switching and last activity have been resolved.Only for the Forerunner 165 smartwatches is a bug fix for Connect IQ app crashes, said to be caused by radial or angled text. Plus, some Forerunner 165 users had flagged issues with smart notification tones; these have now been resolved. In a post in the Garmin forum, the company notes that the phased rollout of beta version 22.4 is at 20%. You can manually download the update by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.The Garmin Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches are receiving a new beta update, version 22.24.
