Smith committed to Tennessee on July 30 but flipped to Auburn just one day after the Tigers lost four-star defensive lineman Nate Marshall to Michigan.
Smith measures 6-foot-2 and weighs 265 pounds. The 247Sports composite rankings list him as the No. 601 player nationally and the 17th-best prospect in Maryland. His recruitment included offers from top programs like Colorado, Indiana, LSU, and a total of 24 offers overall.
Smith’s addition bolsters Auburn’s defensive line group, which now includes talents such as Quientrail Jamison-Travis, Joe Frazier Jr., Malik Blocton, TJ Lindsey, Zykeivous Walker, Keldric Faulk, Darron Reed Jr., Amaris Williams, five-star recruit Malik Autry, and four-star prospects Jourdin Crawford and Antonio Coleman. Unless further changes occur, Auburn’s defensive line is shaping up to be a formidable unit.
