For five years, Tee Higgins has been a key figure in the Cincinnati Bengals’ wide receiver group, but it seems that will change in 2025. According to a report from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN on Wednesday, Higgins has “little to no chance” of returning to the Bengals next season. The 25-year-old former Clemson star is currently earning $21.8 million this season under the franchise tag, with a potential $26.2 million tag waiting for him in 2025.
While Higgins’ contract situation has largely been overshadowed by that of teammate Ja’Marr Chase, the wideout has quietly put together two 1,000-yard seasons since being drafted by the Bengals in 2020. So far in 2024, Higgins has caught 29 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns across five games, though he has been dealing with a hamstring injury. The Bengals, sitting at 4-6, are currently one game behind the Denver Broncos for the AFC’s final wild-card playoff spot.
