Garmin is rolling out a new stable update, version 13.19, to users of the Venu 3, Venu 3s and vivoactive 5 smartwatches. It follows a similar beta release, with an additional update for GCM translations for some users. The main change with version 13.19 is improvements to the voice assistant function for Android smartphone users.
The Garmin Venu 3, Venu 3s and vivoactive 5 smartwatches are currently receiving a new stable update: software version 13.19. Two similar beta versions (13.18 and 13.19) of this update were released for eligible users last week.
As in these two beta updates, the release notes for live software version 13.19 state that Garmin has enhanced the user experience when Android users interact with a Voice Assistant. This tool lets you use Bixby or Google Assistant through your smartwatch for actions like taking a call or sending a message. Plus, an issue relating to the timer with the repeat option, which meant messages could not be dismissed, has been resolved.
On top of this, there is an update for GCM Translations for Venu 3 and 3s users, upgrading from version 2.25 to 2.26. Unfortunately, Garmin does not indicate how users will benefit from this change. This release is now available for at least 50% of users of the Venu 3, Venu 3s and vivoactive 5 smartwatches (curr. from $225.66 at Amazon). You can manually trigger the installation of version 13.19 from the Main Menu > Settings > System > Software Update.
This minor release follows the launch of software version 13.17 in February, which brought a new passcode security feature, Body Battery TrueUp for a more accurate measure of energy levels, as well as support for the HRM 200 chest strap heart rate monitor.
