Breaking News: Texas QB Quinn Ewers to Undergo Medical Procedure for Injury

Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers appeared off his game late in Saturday’s matchup, where No. 3 Texas secured a 31-14 victory over Kentucky at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. The win improved Texas to 10-1 on the season (6-1 in SEC play) and positioned them for a shot at the SEC Championship Game. Texas will face their rival Texas A&M at Kyle Field in Week 14, with the winner advancing to play Georgia on Dec. 7 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Ewers’ availability for the crucial rivalry game remains uncertain after he sustained an ankle injury during Saturday’s win. The junior quarterback from Southlake, Texas, was seen limping off the field following a second-quarter touchdown by running back Jaydon Blue. According to Anwar Richardson of Yahoo Sports, Ewers will undergo a precautionary MRI on Sunday.

“Texas QB Quinn Ewers will undergo a precautionary MRI on Sunday after injuring his ankle against Kentucky,” Richardson reported. “Sources close to the situation are cautiously optimistic there is no structural damage, and Ewers may only need ankle treatments this week.”

If the MRI confirms no significant injury, Ewers is expected to start against Texas A&M. On Saturday, he completed 20-of-31 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Backup quarterback Arch Manning did not enter the game.
