Aston Villa, along with numerous Premier League clubs, are in a heated pursuit for Hammarby’s promising talent Bazoumana Toure.
The young Ivorian has attracted scouts from Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Wolves, Sheffield United, Leeds United, and Celtic. Additionally, Arsenal and Manchester United have also been monitoring his performances, while Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt have expressed interest from Germany.
Newcastle United recently joined the race, as per TBR (The Boot Room), making it a robust competition for Toure’s signature. Swedish outlet Sportbladet, cited by FotbollTransfers, reports that Hammarby seeks a transfer fee exceeding 100 million kroner—approximately £7.2 million or €8.6 million. However, The Mirror suggests his valuation might be closer to £5 million.
Toure has enjoyed an impressive season with Hammarby, scoring nine goals and assisting four times across 21 matches. He joined the Swedish club in March from ASEC Mimosas, an Ivory Coast team, and his recent form has caught the attention of international selectors, with a call-up to the Ivorian national squad anticipated. A January move to the Premier League might boost his chances of securing a spot in the national team.
Despite the demand, any interested club will have to make an appealing offer, as Toure’s contract with Hammarby runs until December 2028, providing the club substantial negotiating power.
In the past, Hammarby’s highest sale was Nathaiel Adeji to Lorient for €5.7 million, but Toure’s growing reputation suggests they could surpass this figure. This summer, Hammarby also sold goalkeeper Oliver Dovin to Coventry City, indicating they’re open to deals with English clubs.
As Hammarby aims for a UEFA Conference League slot in their final two league games, interest in Toure continues to intensify. With Malmo securing the league title, Hammarby is fighting to keep rivals AIK and Djurgarden at bay, ensuring they don’t miss out on European competition next season.
