RT Software provides dynamic graphics solutions for live event broadcasters, serving clients such as Sky Sports, Sky News, TNT Sports (UK), Eurosport (France), and TRT (Turkey). Recently, the company partnered with a sports brand to enhance coverage of live catamaran races from various global locations.
Footage is captured via helicopter and transmitted to London through a high-bandwidth distribution network. The signals are processed using RT Software’s Swift Engine, which relies on AJA Corvid 88 cards for video input/output and an NVIDIA GPU for rendering. An in-house team then adds graphics, including augmented reality (AR) overlays on the water to enrich the race narrative. This final broadcast signal is distributed to multiple TV channels and online streams.
Ian Young, RT Software’s marketing manager, explained, “Our broadcast clients have just one chance to get it right, so reliability is crucial, which is why we’ve standardized on AJA SDI I/O gear.
“It sounds straightforward, but managing simultaneous video inputs and outputs demands significant hardware and processing power. While we aim to make customers self-sufficient with our systems, we’re always ready to provide support when needed. It’s amazing to see how they utilize our technology and integrated AJA equipment in live productions.”
