New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is dealing with a hip flexor injury that he sustained during Thursday’s practice, confirmed head coach Brian Daboll.
Nabers, who has previously been on the injury report due to a groin issue, did not participate in Friday’s practice, raising concerns about his availability for Sunday’s home game against the New Orleans Saints. Daboll mentioned that Nabers hadn’t been ruled out before Friday’s practice, but his status is uncertain, as he remains the team’s leading receiver with 75 catches for 740 yards.
Other Giants players who missed Friday’s practice include linebacker Bobby Okereke (back), defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches (neck), and cornerback Deonte Banks (rib). All three have been unable to practice throughout the week, and while they haven’t been officially ruled out, their outlook isn’t looking promising.
On a more positive note, starting offensive tackles Jermaine Eluemunor (quad) and Evan Neal (hip) were expected to be limited during Friday’s practice. Both players seem to be progressing well, although Daboll did not provide a final update on their status before the team’s practice.
