FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — The snow didn’t stop runners from participating in the 20th Run to Read HalfMarathon on Saturday.

Over 100 runners registered for the race, which acts as one of the biggest fundraisers for the year for the Literacy Volunteers of Marion County. The Literacy Volunteers help tutor any adult or child who wants to learn to read or write or a bit of math. They say that illiteracy is a pressing problem in Marion County with the illiteracy rate reaching 19%.
