Plans have reached an advanced stage for a standard swimming pool to be constructed at the Calabar Sports Club.
Disclosing this in an interview in Calabar, president of the Calabar Sports Club, Eja Dons Esege said, adding swimming pool to the existing facilities in the club will be a dream come true for some of the members who like swimming.The president who described Tennis as a thrilling game revealed that the club has one of the best tennis facilities in the country that can host international matches. Other facilities he hinted have helped to make the club outstanding included a billiard room that harbour two billiard tables, the Darts section as well as the events centre which he promised to furnish before the expiration of his tenueHe further said that despite the lean resources at their disposal they were able to maintain their equipment and provide free internet services for their members.
Apart from having a well-equiped Gym, the President described their VIP Lounge as superb with Coffee bar and acknowledged that the security in the Club is good moreso with a new Security door in place with members using their finger print or facial to gain entry into the club-house.
He stressed that despite featuring in various sports in the club, members are also involved in social activities to keep body and soul together and these included the cultural day, where members adorned their various cultural attires, Elders Nights and Tombola which he introduced recently.
To maintain cordial relationship with other sports clubs across the country, the president revealed that there has been a lot of Inter-Club activities since he came on board and the recent being the South South Inter-Club Championship involving over 20 Clubs from the zone which they hosted.
